Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect almost nothing, your child's recordings never leave your device, and we never sell anyone's data.
In plain words: Stoic Sprout is made for children, so we built it to hold as little data as possible. Anything your child records — a voice note, a line in a journal, even their name — stays on your own device and never reaches our servers. We run no ads and no third-party trackers, and we never sell data. The only thing we keep is the grown-up's account (a name and email) and the subscription.
Who we are
Stoic Sprout is operated by [Operator legal name — Seven Stack] (“we”, “us”), based in Australia. You can reach us at hello@stoicsprout.com for any privacy question or request.
What we collect from your child
Effectively nothing reaches us. Stoic Sprout is designed so that a child's voice notes, journal writing, listening history, and first names live only on your device (in the browser's local storage), and are never transmitted to our servers. Because your child's voice is never sent to us, it is never collected by us.
What we collect from the grown-up
To create and run an account, we collect the account-holder's name and email address, and a securely hashed password. If you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment provider (a Merchant of Record) — we never see or store your full card number. That parent account, plus the status of your subscription, is the entire set of information we hold on our servers.
Children's privacy (COPPA and beyond)
Stoic Sprout is directed to children, so we take children's privacy seriously and aim to meet or exceed the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent expectations elsewhere. In practice this means: we minimise collection to essentially zero for children; we run no advertising and no third-party tracking on the app; and where any child-related feature is offered, it is gated behind a verifiable parent step. Because a paid subscription is placed by an adult account-holder with card notification, it also serves as verifiable parental consent for the service.
Analytics and cookies
On this website we use privacy-first, cookieless analytics that count visits without identifying you or tracking you across other sites. We do not use advertising cookies or share data with ad networks. The app itself carries no third-party analytics at all.
How we use what we hold
We use the grown-up's account details only to run your account, deliver the stories you've subscribed to, keep the service secure, and reply if you contact us. That's all.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent anyone's personal information, ever. We share the minimum necessary with a small number of service providers who help us run Stoic Sprout — our payment provider (to process your subscription), our hosting and content-delivery providers, and email delivery for account messages. Each is bound to handle data only on our instructions.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your grown-up account for as long as it is open. You can delete it at any time from within the app, which removes your account and associated records from our servers. Anything stored on your device is under your control: the app includes controls to erase individual notes and recordings, or to wipe all on-device data. Removing the app from your home screen may not erase local data — please use the in-app control to be sure.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information at any time — most of it directly in the app, or by emailing us at hello@stoicsprout.com. If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (such as the EU/UK or various U.S. states), those rights apply and we will honour valid requests.
Where your data is handled
We are based in Australia, and some of our service providers operate internationally, so account information may be processed in other countries under appropriate protections. Your child's on-device data does not move at all — it stays on your device.
Security
We protect the little we hold with sensible, up-to-date safeguards. The strongest protection, though, is structural: the most sensitive data (your child's voice and words) is never sent to us in the first place.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll let account-holders know.
Contact and complaints
